I Wrote A Book
Do you have a bucket list?
I think everyone should have a bucket list... you know, the list you make of things you want to do/see/accomplish before you kick the bucket.
I made one a few years ago (which I lost by the way) and on it was to write and publish my children's book. I started my children's book back in 2006 when I was pregnant with my now (almost) eight year old. It took me about a year to finish it... the book is completely in rhyme and the story and the message is awesome. Problem is, I SUCK at illustrations. I tried. It doesn't flow as nicely out of me as writing does. I got my copyright for my book from the US government in 2008 and my book has been sitting... collecting dust... frustrating my husband because he sees the potential for a major success.
I guess I see it too... but the process overwhelms me. Finding the right illustrator. Hiring said illustrator. Working out a deal with that artistic person who is not me. Getting my book published. Having people read it. Having people love it. Having people hate it. <--- am="" i="" is="" of.="" p="" scared="" that="" what="">
Rejection sucks. I think it is normal to fear rejection. I love my book. Everyone that has read it loves my book... and the illustrations in my head look amazing! BUT. The big but. I would hate to put it out there and have it tank.
So in the meantime, I wrote a super short book about something simple and easy for me. Clean eating. I live it every day. I found myself having to explain the concept of clean eating for so many people that I woke up in the middle of the night one night with the first chapter already written in my head. I went to work and exactly one week later it was ready to print! It was easy. Way too easy. I want to share it with everyone because it IS easy. If you are new to clean eating, it can be a scary and overwhelming concept to grasp. So I whittled it down to the bare minimum of what you need to know about clean eating, put it into print form, designed a cover and called it "Fit Mom Joslin: Clean Eating 101" I included over 20 recipes to try as well! It really in my eyes is nothing amazing... just something I can check off my bucket list. Something to propel my dreams and goals. Something to share and hopefully help someone who is struggling with their nutrition. I am a huge fan of The Gracious Pantry (www.thegraciouspantry.com) and how simple she made her Clean Eating 101 section. It is where I started my journey back in 2013. TWO years ago!? Wow that went fast... and I have learned along the way and put my simple steps in my book.
It went "live" today. Yikes!!! It is available to purchase through my link right HERE and is even on SALE! (I love a sale) I don't know how long I will run the 15% off discount, but for now... I just want others to get their hands on simple knowledge. Simple. Easy. Beginner.
If you want more information about the book, just let me know!! And... hopefully someday (soon) my children's book will be available!! Until then, thank you for reading my blog and following me on social media and here is to checking off our bucket list!
